Not only closed-type headphones, but also so-called open-type headphones often have their ear pads sealed to extend the characteristic playback frequency to low frequencies that the driver unit cannot originally reproduce. In the D8000 DC series, we were able to extend the low frequency reproduction band with AFDS, so it is possible to reproduce sufficient low frequency even with poorly sealed ear pads using only the ability of the driver unit. The ear pads, which have a big impact on sound quality, are an in-house product that uses a special fabric made of Japanese paper that has a dry feel and durability as a surface material, and a foam material with excellent breathability. Furthermore, the thickness of the ear pads in the DC series is 1.5 times that of previous models, increasing the volume of the acoustic space. As a result, the sound field is expanded and the range of human voices becomes smoother.
