The shape of the human body -- the size of the head, the shape of the ears, the thickness of the shoulders -- changes the sound that reaches the ears. The body shape varies greatly from person to person. However, since earphones deliver sound without taking into account the influence of body shape, the impression that each person receives when listening to sound differs from person to person. TONALITE is the world's first* earphone that measures the "individuality of your body" and applies the tone to your individuality.

Numerous studies have shown that the naturalness of the timbre is more important than the spatial impression when enjoying audio content. For example, the graph below shows the number of comments categorized regarding sound during playback experiments of VR (Virtual Reality) content. Scan your body shape with your smartphone's camera using a dedicated app. Generate your 3D model "Acoustic Avatar™️" on the cloud. This "Acoustic Avatar™️" is placed in a virtual sound space to simulate the reflection and diffraction of sound caused by the outer ear, head, and body. Calculates the influence of body shape on sound. Based on this calculation result, we calculate the physical quantities necessary to apply individuality to the tone.

Physical simulation of sound waves alone does not tell us how people who hear the sound actually perceive it. So,finalhas developed a unique auditory model. The auditory model is a mathematical description of the process by which humans perceive various information and impressions from sound based on the physical information of sound waves that reach the eardrum.
In this auditory model, a mathematical model is constructed to obtain parameters related to timbre from information obtained from physical quantities regarding the influence of body shape on incoming sound waves. This allows you to create your own natural tone.

Earphones deliver sound without considering the influence of an individual's body shape on the sound, making it difficult in principle to achieve a ``natural tone''. DTAS is based on mathematical processing and takes into account the influence of your body shape on the earphones to create your own "natural tone." When this ``natural tone'' is achieved, you will be able to hear delicate sounds and intonations that you have not noticed before, even in songs that you have listened to many times, and the image of the sound you get will completely change. As a result, I keep getting curious, "How will this song sound?"
The results produced by DTAS are, so to speak, a blank canvas. The colors (tones) drawn there stand out clearly against the white background, allowing you to see even the finest touches. If this canvas itself becomes cloudy, the drawn lines (sound) will become difficult to see.

The dedicated app allows you to scan and analyze your body shape, generate a DTAS profile, and apply it to earphones. Once the settings are complete, you can switch between the default sound "DTAS General" and the personalized sound "DTAS Personalized" within the app.
In addition, there are many useful functions within the app, such as switching between noise canceling and ambient, ``Volume Step Optimization'' that allows you to adjust the volume more precisely, a 10-band equalizer, and checking the remaining battery charge.
 


・Key technology supporting DTAS - ultra-low distortion transducer f-Core for DTAS
What supports the accuracy of DTAS isfinalf-CORE for DTAS is a newly designed high-precision driver. In order to accurately reproduce the sound of DTAS Personalized, the calculation results must be accurately reflected in the output of the earphone's driver unit at a level of 0.1dB. To achieve this precision, the diaphragm and edge, which would normally be glued, are integrated using injection molding. High precision is achieved by reducing the need for adhesives, such as by using aerial wiring for the coil drawers. We also introduced distortion reduction technology obtained from the development of the A10000, the flagship model of wired earphones. This dramatically reduces the distortion rate and improves sound reproduction.finalWe design and manufacture dynamic driver units in-house, and our strength is that we can incorporate cutting-edge approaches from material processing to manufacturing equipment design and jig development.



・Equipped with triple hybrid noise canceling
TONALITE's housing uses a nested structure to improve the sealing of the acoustic space. In addition, the inner vent mechanism optimizes the air pressure inside the casing while ensuring airtightness. In addition to these physical sound insulation properties, we have adopted a triple hybrid method that combines feedforward and feedback methods. Based on physical sound insulation, we use Sony's ANC dedicated chipset CXD3784 and Infineon's high-performance MEMS microphone.finalA unique algorithm achieves silence without any oppressive feeling.
Furthermore, noise canceling can be set to "Sound Quality Priority" or "ANC Priority" in the in-app settings. If you select "Sound Quality Priority" mode, you can enjoy music in a quiet environment without affecting the sound quality at all.



・Ambient mode that can be used in quiet environments
Generally, when using the ambient mode of earphones in a quiet environment such as a library, there have been complaints that the sound of keyboards and footsteps becomes distracting and difficult to use. TONALITE uses Infineon's MEMS microphone, which can be said to be the highest quality MEMS microphone currently available on the market. A unique algorithm suppresses the emphasis on specific sounds, creating an ambient mode that can be used even in quiet environments.
 

・Feeling of wearing
By placing the battery and circuit board on the outside of the housing and making the part that is inserted into the ear small, it is comfortable to wear even for people with small ears. The earpieces use FUSION-G, which has the flexibility of silicone and the sound insulation properties of foam. Although it is tightly sealed and sound insulated, it does not feel oppressive, so it is comfortable even when used for long periods of time. In addition to the earpiece, the earphones are held at multiple points, including the adjustable ring, ensuring a stable fit.
