Hemp villas: I think that you always have such doubts about common sense, but is it especially strong this time?

Fucking:that's right. Of course, we have a number of research in parallel, and in terms of acoustic research, we have been fruited by the D8000 and A8000, but we have also studied digital signal processing technology separately. ZE8000 is one of the things that each of them has been studied.

Hemp villas: When I looked over the direction I was thinking, I noticed that I wasn't going in the same direction! In other words, Bluetooth is not bad.

Fucking:that's right. Bluetooth is compressed, so the problem that occurs there isCodec [2]It should be considered considerably when developed. So, in a sense, it was not the top in terms of priority.

Hemp villas: FINAL is very packed with "What is sound?" Audio in a broad sense, not just headphones and earphones. I don't think there are many such manufacturers. When the FINAL was working hard with a lot of stress, one direction came out.

Fucking:I agree. Basic research takes time and money, and you have the impression that you can't get results. We were likely to face the same problem, but there were few people and there was no money, so is there a way to do it a little earlier? Hemp villas: If you don't understand the meaning, you don't know if you can study this technology.

Hemp villas: Mr. Hamasaki, who is here, is a large engineer who has developed that 22.2 channel at the NHK Broadcasting Technology Research Institute at the NHK Broadcasting Technology Research Institute. In a difficult audio scholar, I wrote a lot of papers. I was able to get such a person well (laughs).

Fucking: As you said (laughs). I didn't know if I could really believe digital signal processing, so I was talking to various people. At that time, I often mentioned that earphones and headphones should be able to do this, so I wondered if I was a little interesting.

Hemp villas: Mr. Hamasaki, how did you join Final?

Beach: The trigger was that a company run by my senior to correct the sound of the speaker by digital signal processing from Hosoo. I've been working in the professional industry. Make sound, transmit sound. I came to the point to deliver to the user, but I had no experience with the consumer industry to regenerate it. From a certain point, I was very interested in how the user is listening to a high -end audio speaker. So, I asked my senior to help my work, so I asked him to show what it was.

Hemp villas: So he measured the sound from President Hosoo's speaker and corrected it with a digital filter.

Beach:yes. High -end speakers improve sound with digital signal processing. I think this idea is around 1985, but at that time, NHK tried to adjust the monitor speaker for recording with state -of -the -art digital signal processing. But it didn't work after all. If I thought it was tough, my senior was talking, "I can do it now."

Hemp villas: The technology is completely different from that time.

Beach:yes. It's been 40 years. "Is the high -end favorite people happy about the sound of digital signal processing?" Among them, I wanted to adjust the TAD speaker from Hosoo, so I stuck and had a little conversation. That is the trigger.

Fucking: I also want to know as a enthusiast, "How far can you do digital signal processing?" So even if you ask a lot of questions to Hamasaki, you can answer accurately, so "Uncle is very familiar." I often said that (laughs).

Hemp villas: I don't know (laughs). Did you get the knowledge through that experience?

Beach: The biggest thing was that the listening of the recording engineer and the user's way of listening were different. It is very important for professional engineers to be in the middle of the left and right speakers. Professionals determine the position position position in the pampot, so they have to know the localization. However, after improving the localization of the sound image by signal processing, many users say, "I have a good position, but I like the front."

Hemp villas: That's a very interesting story. When it comes to a consumer, the professional is already a god, and there is one image that everything that the professional is doing is right. Therefore, it is because the name of the manufacturer names the name "professional". But it is not.

Beach:yes. The most shocking thing was that he took out a CD and said, "This music doesn't sound well with our speakers." When you listen to the sound source, the recording is bad. As you mentioned now, the user thinks that the recording is perfect and your speakers are bad. When I say, "This is a bad recording, what if you look for a better recording work?"

Hemp villas: Professionals are experienced and have the skills, so it's a very early stage, whether it's a sound source or a rehabilitation device problem. This problem is important, and when I check the audio, I don't listen so much and I always listen to it. Then the sound source is always the same, so I am listening to the difference, so I can discover where the badness is.



Hemp villas: Well, what kind of place did Hamazaki join this company and particularly particular about the development of ZE8000?

Beach: What I talked to with Hosoo from the beginning of the development was "tone". I think I wanted to make TWS earphones that were particular about the tone. The reason why it is TWS earphones is that the genre that is called a wired wire with a transducer and a transducer is called an acoustic engineering or machine sound, for example, changes the filter, or changes the characteristics of the vibration plate. Or, or to change the volume of the air room behind the diaphragm to improve the characteristics.

Beach:yes. Even if you try to make an ideal thing with acoustics, there is a limit. In TWS earphones, there is a FINAL technology that has accumulated so far in acoustic. Digital signal processing can be used in the package. If so, you can do it thoroughly. I think that it was a tone part, and it was different from the concept so far, and we could make a ZE8000 that we thought like this.

Hemp villas: One of the trends of the audio is active speakers. In the past, there was an amplifier, a cable, and a speaker. It came here and suddenly, active speakers were attracting attention. In other words, the total world "Acoustic processing is also available" and "Measures with a microphone and optimize by signal processing" is created by sounding the best speaker. If you think about it, it is certainly common sense that the headphone that sounds like a conventional speaker is the best, and the TWS earphones have stopped like "Bluetooth". The current story is scales from the eyes. The top concept is wired, and TWS earphones have a Bluetooth problem, so it was common sense that no matter how hard they work on the acoustic part, it was useless. FINAL said in ZE8000 that it was not. This is amazing. It's a Copernicus -like turn.

Beach: TWS earphones are the same concept as active speakers, as you mentioned. You can also receive a wireless signal, decode the received signal, there is a signal process, it has an amplifier, and it also has a driver unit. Therefore, the manufacturer can create an ideal package. The manufacturer does the necessary signal processing and package active speakers. After that, select the source that users flow there.
There is a codec problem for this sources. The world is now from physical media to streaming, and I think codec will probably be discussed in earnest.
Until now, in speakers, I think that the sound quality problem was a bit chaotic. Is it a cable, an amplifier, or how to put a speaker? If it can be provided in a package as an active speaker, you can concentrate on the interior sound of the room to install the speakers, or the source of the source. If the TWS earphone world can be optimized with a package, we can discuss what the codec is for the first time and what the sampling frequency is good. Probably not at all. That was the concept that Bluetooth's Rossy Codec was bad, and the sound quality theory stopped there. In accordance with the principles, we first came up with the package to make good sounds, and we finally thought that we had just started the discussion on sound quality.


Hemp villas: That's really interesting. In the argument, when you make a tone, you can only make half if it is passive. The world of the Pro -Dio was once a great amplifier and was a passive monitor speaker, but isn't it an active speaker now?

Beach:I agree.

Hemp villas: According to Genelec, a speaker manufacturer, he says he is active for the purpose of making a very neutral sound. In that sense, it is a matter of course that professional audio worlds and high -end consumer high -end worlds are gradually active. Until now, the world of earphones had cables and acoustic, that is, passive. There, half of the sound was decided by smartphone or DAP. Then, no matter how good the sound is made of earphones, the sound is not the sound of the manufacturer because the sound is added.

Beach:I agree.

Hemp villas: Regarding TWS earphones, I think that there was no one who had seen all the bad sounds in Bluetooth and saw the sound problems brought about by signal processing and acoustics.

Beach: Looking back, I'm not an earphone or headphone -manufacturing expert. There is no specified concept.

Hemp villas: I see, that's what it is (laughs).

Beach: So, there were many things that I thought, "Why don't you do this?" That was interesting. Maybe if you dig up, there is still something you can use. I think I was able to work on the manufacturing technology of earphones and headphones from zero because I had little experience. Probably, those who have gained experience with earphones and headphones have been difficult to change their ideas because they know a lot. In that sense, I had no experience of developing earphones and headphones, so I could say, "Isn't this going to make the sound better?" Probably a lot of strange things from common sense.

Hemp villas: That's very important. Going in a new direction does not always mean that people who have been doing it for a long time can go in a new direction. I think it's good. However, even if it looks flat and flat, if you hit the light from another direction, you will see the groove there.

Beach: I've been telling Hosoo for a long time, saying, "Earphones and headphones seem to be doing basic research, and they haven't been done yet." Even a very thick audio transducer specialized book is about 10 pages for earphones, and most of them are speakers. Speakers are the first in the professional industry, and earphones and headphones are more like accessories used to check sounds. Until now, it was natural to listen to consumers with speakers.
That's why many young people are now mainly earphones and headphones. Then, from the viewpoint of the speaker, it is an era where you have to look at the earphones and headphones from the perspective of "what are you listening to with earphones and headphones?" However, there are many things that have not been done, so I think that it is a treasure mountain that is really new as a research.

Bent is a vent, a ventilation hole. Ventilation holes are also called vents. [2] Codec
Codec is a technology and algorithm for compressing or converting digital data. The codec compresses a wide variety of data, such as audio and video, to a smaller size, making it easier to use for data transfer and storage. The process of compressing digital data is called encoding, and a process for returning to the original data is called decoding. The codec of the audio signal calls the LossLess Codec that can physically restore the original signal, and the Lossy Codec is the one that cannot physically restore the original signal. 。 In the latter case, it seems that there are many cases where data is used to compress data so that the original audio signal and the hearing do not change as much as possible using human hearing characteristics. Codecs are required for the audio signal transmission using Bluetooth used in TWS earphones, etc. Bluetooth audio codecs are used to convert audio signals to digital data and send them to the target devices through Bluetooth connection. The receiving side decodes the received data and restores it to the original audio signal. There are several types of Bluetooth audio codecs. For example, there are SBC (Subband Coding), AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), APTX, LDAC (Low Delay Audio Codec). SBC is a basic codec of audio transmission by Bluetooth, and is supported by most Bluetooth devices. AAC can achieve higher quality audio transmission and use it as a standard codec on Apple iOS devices. Which codecs can be used on each device depends on the specifications of the device. The general Bluetooth device automatically selects the supported codecs and achieves the highest quality audio transmission.

[3] Agile development
Agile development is a software development process and is different from the conventional development process. [4] LC network
The LC network is used to split the audio signal input into multiple bands so that it is optimal for each speaker unit in speakers composed of multiple different speaker units such as woofers, scalkers, and tweeters. It will be. The LC network refers to an analog circuit that combines a coil (L) and capacitor (C). This circuit can pass the signal of a specific frequency band by designing the value of L and C. In speakers, a circuit that is divided into the optimal band for each speaker unit is called a crossover circuit, and the LC network is used for this crossover circuit. Recently, speakers with a built -in crossover circuit using digital audio signal processing and single audio equipment with a crossover function using digital audio signal processing have been released.

[5] Transducer
A transducer is an electrical sound conversion device that converts sound waves into an electric signal or converts an electric signal into a sound wave. The former has a microphone, and the latter has speakers, earphones, headphones, etc. Trans deer is a particularly important device for audio technology that handles sound waves. Although audio devices other than transducers have changed dramatically with the development of digital audio signal processing technology, the transducer has improved sound quality by improving, but basically the conventional technology is still based on the conventional technology.
